MARE in Konskie Group
The MARE board has become the central element of the conference room in the Star Training Center – a training space designed based on the philosophy of the four elements: fire, water, air and earth.

Creating recycled sheets fascinates us for many reasons. We are dealing with a material created by man, which was used to produce products used by man. To process this material, we have developed an advanced technological process. However, nature, even in such a precisely controlled process, also plays its role.
As in nature, we cannot count on complete predictability. Although we know the material and maintain constant process parameters, each produced sheet surprises us with its uniqueness. This uniqueness can sometimes be surprising for some designers and clients.
Forgiving Design is for us a definition of a way of designing with recycled materials. The design must forgive some imperfections that may or may not appear. We work with post-consumer recyclates, so there may be an inclusion of another material or color in the sheet or product. The more problematic the material we process, the greater the risk of imperfections.
Where do these differences come from?
The key role is played by the input material, which can come from different sources. For example, the material used to make non-carbonated drink caps is slightly different from that used for carbonated drinks, even though both are classified as HDPE. What’s more, the material itself may contain additives that modify its properties – they can affect hardness, flexibility, UV resistance and other characteristics. These differences, although sometimes subtle, have a huge impact on the final result of the board production.
The unpredictability of this process makes each board unique, similar to wood. Just as each board has its own individual pattern, may contain knots and differ from others, so too each of our boards has its own unique characteristics. With small inclusions, irregularities or subtle deviations, each board tells its own story, making it one of a kind.

Elegant, with organic shapes and circular – these are the Shells tables. Their tops are made of recycled plastic, in a unique color version “White Sloth”. The legs of the tables are made of wood, stained in a deep, dark brown shade.
The SLOTH board was used as a shelf top and a mezzanine element in a unique bathroom. In this project, the translucency of this pattern was emphasized.
