NEW STONE by Orska

Project:  ORSKA

Unique design, unique inspiration, unique material. We tried to create a stone, or to speed up its creation, completely anew and from the beginning… Can a stone be made from recycled plastic?

It turns out that it can… at least partially. Together and thanks to the inspiration of Anna Orska, we tried to create a new material, combining recycled plastic with brass filings. Both materials were waste, the use cycle was closed. Processing and combining both materials allowed us to achieve a durable composite with very high aesthetic values. The goal was for the stone formed in this way to remain beautiful in its form for hundreds of years.

“In the creative process, one of the most important stages is the appropriate selection of material and technology. When faced with the dilemma of whether we should extract the necessary raw material, produce it, or use what we have available, the decision seems obvious. But it is not obvious. Anna Orska, famous with a passion for experiments and reaching for non-standard components in jewelry, she decided to take a stand in the discussion surrounding one of the most important problems of our times – overproduction of plastic. – Anna Orska about her collection
